Endeavour Awards

The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to do the same abroad.

The Endeavour Awards team is pleased to announce that the closing date for the 2010 Endeavour Awards second round has been extended. Your application, together with all supporting documentation, must be submitted by 11.59pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time on Friday 5 February 2010. No late applications will be accepted.

The University of Sydney World Scholars Program

 

Applicants wishing to be considered for a University of Sydney World Scholars award commencing in Semester 1, 2010, must complete an application form available from the web http://www.usyd.edu.au/internationaloffice/forms/pgformresearch.pdf.

Applicants must have received a Firm Offer of Admission from The University of Sydney for Semester 1, 2010, before submitting this application form.

The closing date for World Scholars applications is 5.00pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) 18 September 2009. Please note that there is an earlier deadline of 31 July 2009 for submitting an application for admission to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Candidates must be from the following countries:

The University of Sydney International Visiting Research Fellowships

Deadline:  29 May 2009

·         The University of Sydney International Visiting Research Fellowships are offered to researchers of high standing at any stage in their career to share and disseminate new and original ideas and/or techniques, initiate and undertake collaborative research and facilitate interaction and training of University staff and students.

·         Visiting fellows are expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic life of the University

·         Applicants and their University of Sydney host researcher must have an outstanding track record relative to opportunity

·         Successful applicants are expected to be based full-time at the University for the duration of the Fellowship. Applications from returning expatriate Australians are encouraged.
Applicants must contact the Head of the host School/Department before 24 April 2009.

Go8 European Fellowships

The Group of Eight offers eight annual fellowships to early career researchers in Europe to work in Go8 universities for up to six months. Each Fellowship is worth AUD 20,000.
For the past three years the Fellowships have been open to eligible researchers in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria. From 2010 researchers in Croatia will also be eligible.
The Go8 European Fellowship scheme recognises the importance of international contacts for early career researchers. It is envisaged that Fellows will continue to collaborate with Australian research partners when they return to their home institutions.
